Canada is a very large and diverse country that spans a continent and the entire political spectrum. However, we Canadians are unique in our culture, with one of the defining characteristics being how we think of Freedom.
What do Canadians value?
- The Freedom to get sick and not worry about whether we will go bankrupt.
- The Freedom to send our kids to schools that don’t have active shooter drills.
- The Freedom to travel the world with our beautiful flag proudly emblazoning our backpacks, without fear of retribution for our nationality.
- The Freedom to pay a fair tax burden so that all Canadians can share our all of our Freedoms.
- The Freedom to start companies, hire people, build wealth, lose it all, and try all over again. The Freedom to get rich if our business ventures are successful.
- The Freedom to own a gun.
- The Freedom to have normal elections run by non-partisans.
- The Freedom to vote without intimidation or undue burden,
- The Freedom to travel freely to other provinces and new neighbourhoods, with much less fear about the colour of our skin defining how we are treated. Although this must be acknowledged as a work in progress.
